Gooseneck microphones are designed for any situation where the spoken word needs to be picked up but the presenter does not want to use a hand-held microphone. The microphone is mounted on the end of an adjustable gooseneck which can range between 5 to 21 inches in length. Gooseneck microphones often use a desktop base, and some are mounted flush with the surface of the desk.
